FAQ
Getting Started
The quickest way is to book online through our website. You can also call during business hours, or email.
No, you can book an appointment directly. However, if you’d like to access a Medicare rebate, you’ll need a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP.
To claim a Medicare rebate, you must provide your GP referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan before your session.
Click on the booking link to view all available appointments for both Telehealth and In-Person sessions. I recommend booking a few sessions in advance. You can also request to be added to the cancellation list, and I’ll get in contact if an earlier appointment becomes available.
Before your first appointment, please send:
- Your GP referral letter and Mental Health Treatment Plan
- Any other helpful documents (e.g., reports, assessments, discharge summaries)
You can send these via:

Sessions and Treatment
Your first session is a chance for me to get to know you and understand what has brought you here. We’ll talk through your concerns, background, and goals, and discuss how therapy might support you. There’s no pressure to share everything at once, we’ll move at your pace. You’ll also have a chance to ask questions and decide if I’m the right fit for you.
Standard therapy sessions are 50 minutes. Initially, I typically recommend weekly or fortnightly appointments. As you progress, sessions may become less frequent. The frequency depends on your individual needs and goals.
Assessment appointments may vary in length and will be discussed with you in advance.
Yes. I offer secure telehealth sessions to clients anywhere in Australia. You may choose from online video (Microsoft Teams) or Phone.
Sessions are conducted via Microsoft Teams. A laptop or tablet works better than a phone — the larger screen makes a difference.
You’ll need a camera, microphone, and speakers or headphones. If you haven’t used Teams before, it’s worth downloading it and doing a quick test call beforehand.
Find a private space where you won’t be interrupted. When it’s time for your session, click the link provided in your confirmation and you’ll be connected directly.
If you have any trouble getting set up, get in contact before your session and I can help you sort it out.
48 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or reschedules. Late cancellations or missed appointments will incur a fee, as this time is set aside just for you.
If unforeseen circumstances prevented your attendance, you may be eligible for an exemption in accordance with our cancellation policy.
You can email or leave a voicemail for non-urgent matters, and I’ll respond within 1-2 business days. For mental health emergencies, please contact Lifeline (13 11 14), your GP, or emergency services (000).
While I don’t provide after-hours crisis support, we can help you develop a crisis plan and connect you with 24/7 resources like Lifeline, Beyond Blue, or your local mental health crisis team.

Insurance and Payment:
Yes. If you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. Current rebate amounts can be found on the Fees page.
To claim a Medicare rebate, you must provide your GP referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan before your first session.
For In Person appointments, rebates are available immediately after the session in your bank account. Note: This requires a physical bank card to be presented.
You will need to check your level of cover with your insurer. If eligible, you will need to pay the full fee on the day of your appointment. An invoice will be provided for you to submit to your health fund directly.
Privacy and Confidentiality:
Yes, everything discussed in sessions is confidential. This is fundamental to creating a safe therapeutic space where you can speak openly.
For young people (12-17 years):
You have the right to confidentiality but if there are serious and immediate safety concerns, we may need to speak to an adult to ensure you are okay. We’ll discuss your specific situation, including what information might be shared with parents and under what circumstances, during your first session so you understand your rights and any limitations.
Confidentiality may only be broken in rare circumstances: if there’s risk of serious harm to yourself or others, if there’s suspected child abuse, or if required by law (such as a court order). We would discuss this with you whenever possible.
