Autism Assessments

A comprehensive assessment to explore your social communication, sensory processing, and thinking patterns.

About Adult Autism assessments

Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition characterised by differences in social communication and interaction, alongside restricted and repetitive patterns of behaviour, interests, or activities. It also commonly involves differences in sensory processing.

These traits influence how you experience the world, relate to others, and navigate daily life. An autism assessment aims to determine whether you meet the diagnostic criteria for autism spectrum disorder by thoroughly examining your current presentation, developmental history, and functional impact.

The assessment process helps build a comprehensive understanding of your social communication patterns, sensory profile, and behavioural traits to identify both challenges and strengths.

Your report and next steps

Receive a full report (and feedback session) or summary report with insights and recommendations.

How long does it take?

Adult Autism assessments usually take several hours, often split over two or more sessions (online via video conference). The exact duration depends on the package you select and your individual needs.

Is an assessment necessary?

An assessment is recommended if you suspect autism might explain some of your challenges or differences in how you interact and process the world. It provides clarity and understanding beyond self-observation or informal identification.

By completing an assessment, you can:

  • Determine whether you meet the diagnostic criteria for autism or if other factors might explain your experiences
  • Gain clearer insight into your strengths and challenges
  • Access supports and strategies tailored to your specific needs
  • Inform workplace reasonable adjustments, social supports, or educational accommodations
  • Make informed decisions about therapy or other interventions
  • Experience validation and increased self-understanding

What happens after the assessment?

After your assessment is complete, you’ll receive either a comprehensive report (and feedback session) or summary letter, depending on your chosen package. This document explains whether you meet the diagnostic criteria for autism spectrum disorder and includes personalised recommendations to guide your next steps.

If autism is diagnosed, the report will outline how your neurotype presents and include suggestions for supports that align with your communication style, sensory needs, and daily functioning. This may include therapeutic interventions, workplace or educational adjustments, or access to relevant services.

If autism is not diagnosed, the report will still provide valuable insights and observations that can help identify other factors affecting your wellbeing. You’ll receive guidance on alternative pathways and therapeutic options based on your individual profile.
